Re: Open exhaust can

I doubt it will run well if thats the only change made. I got the Wings exhaust and was going to run it without the noise reducer as it wasn't that loud. But the bike tended to stall and traffic lights and the doco that came with it said the ECU needs to be tuned to run without the reducer .. so I j...

I picked the bike up today. KTM replaced all 4 cams and the finger followers. They ended up flying in a race team mechanic to perform the work instead of having the dealership do it. Rather bizarre.
Thats a bit of a turnaround .. sounds like they don't trust the dealership mechanics very much !

Re: Denali d4 driving lights on a GT

Hi all, I looked at a thread here showing gas tank removal but none of the images showed up, and I have no idea what tapatalk is (where apparently they do show up). Cheers Tapatalk is an app for phones and tablets for reading forums. I expect the images are on Tapatalk servers then. Sent from my Pi...

Re: Need meat in the middle for a longer lasting tire!

Moved to the Angle GT A Spec. Same performance but, a more durable tire tread for the heavy Sports Touring bike. Best, Doc That's good to hear about the A spec, since I expect that's all most shops would carry anyway. GT are not really that heavy .. my mates z800 Kawasaki weighs more ! Though I gue...

I will be trying Michelin Pilot Road 5 next though, as generally prefer them especially for Winter.

Re: Need meat in the middle for a longer lasting tire!

KTM recommends Angel GT, spec D for the SDGT. Mine rear tire needs replacing after only 4000 miles. It has a 3/4" strip, right down the middle, worn down to threads. There's plenty of tread left all over the tire, but the area right in the middle, where there was no tread or grooves to start with, ...

Well I guess that's a lot better than the whole things detaching .. not great though.

Re: Pirelli Angel GT: what's "spec D"?

Thanks for the info, Doc! Guess I'm still wondering whether all Angel GTs are spec "D", and if not, what is the harm in using an Angel GT that is a spec other than D, as long as it's a group 75W load class? I did already buy a 60mm socket for the rear axle nut. It is very similar to the one you ref...

Re: 40 T rear sprocket

They are illegal in Oz right ?? Yep. Our cameras are nearly all laser based now and the laser jammers which masquerade as parking sensors can get you a $1,200 fine and 7 demerits ! https://thewest.com.au/news/wa/wa-to-crackdown-on-use-of-laser-jammers-or-electronic-scramblers-with-1200-fine-and-sev...

Re: 40 T rear sprocket

Its just as bad (probably worse) in most of Australia unfortunately. Serious crimes going up through the roof, whilst the government spending millions on new speed cameras and hiding them in bushes etc .. at least in Western Australia. Speed cameras bring in the $ .. no money in catching crims who c...

Looks great, on my to do list. I tried a zip up bar mount for my phone, but it overheats and shuts down. My bike is mostly commuting though, so it's hard to justify the $

That sounds better. Do you need to buy a KTM GPS mount for the TomTom, or does it come with one that fits ?

Re: Superduke GT sat nav Install

Hi all, I have just bought a 2017 superduke gt which came with the power parts touring kit. I have bought a tom tom rider sat nav and needs to be hard wired. Can anyone direct me on how to install please? The fixing kit looks pretty easy but do I need to take any of the fairing off? For the wiring ...

OK, thanks.

So I guess the Clearwaters are wired direct to battery or an Accessory outlet, so as not to upset CANBUS ?

Re: Clearwater Darla’s on 2017 KTM SDGT

Nice. Does the Cyclops seem to bleed light to light up far and wide , even on low beam ? .. mine does. I also had to adjust the headlight up as high as possible for high beam, which is still too low really. It is brighter, but was a bit disappointed considering it's meant to be made for the GT speci...

Re: 40 T rear sprocket

It's bigger to lower the gearing. Stock is 38. I changed mine and the chain is just long enough with wheel right forward. Don't need to remove wheel, but do need to slide it forward so easier with a stand. It makes 6th gear a bit more accessible, though it's still borderline for me in Australia wit...

Cyclops LED headlight conversion

Hi I am not too impressed with the Cyclops 7000 LED headlight, anyone else running one ? It's very bright, but the light goes everywhere and I am sure it's dazzling everyone. This kit was claimed to be specific for the GT .. but there doesn't seem to be a good adjustment that suits high beam and low...
