Re: KTM paddock stand

Pit Bull stands are second to none. I always keep my tires off the ground if I'm not riding it.

Re: Warranty coverage for 2016 SDGT?

Really? 2 years warratny in the US? I bought my '16 in November and it only had a 1 year warranty. When did you purchase yours akamire? That may be how they slashed the price so steeply and offered the dealers a rebate. I bought a demo also on July 13th of 16, I called them last spring and they sai...

Re: Warranty coverage for 2016 SDGT?

I got 24 months on my 16' GT, this should hold true throughout the country I'd hope.

Re: Change of suspension

I was told it could be, but you would have the suspension failure warning on your dash from that point on. Just ride it first. I thought I was unhappy with the suspension but it turned out to be my front tire wore out. Sure it doesn't feel like a track motorcycle but it can hold its own(No one has p...

Re: New 2016 SDGT

I have 6500 miles on mine, no issues worth mentioning besides the rear brake reservoir cap falls off almost all of them( tighten it with a dab of loctite of finger nail polish) the spur on the kick stand has broke off twice and learned to not use it. Go ride the shit out it! Especially knowing you g...

Re: It quit...but did refire!

I've had this happen also, but only when I ride 2 up with the woman as I ride very conservative with her on the bike. Never had it happen when I'm riding it as it was designed to be. My advise is to ride it harder.[emoji6] No need for a dealership appointment in my opinion. Sent from my SM-G950U usi...

Re: My new GT!

Thanks Doc, some good info there. So is the dongle plug and play or does the dealer have to unlock this "race" suspension setting? Similar to how they have to program the MSR and hill hold features ( of course they charge decent money for it) BTW I was at Barber last month, its not as smooth as it o...

Re: My new GT!

@akarmire Yeah, KTM PowerParts Race Dongle - it permits settings made to MTC and ABS to be stored and not reset after each power cycle. The additional Race Damping setting seems to be something that not all have. South Africa is a beautiful country - there are so many places to see! Which region(s)...

Re: Thoughts on new tires

I think you'll be happy with those, a few guys l ride with use them and like them. The only thing I've noticed with those is they start cupping at the end of their lives, even though they have quite a bit of tread left.

Re: My new GT!

Cool, South Africa looks like beautiful country. I actually knew nothing about the place until recently when 2 guys I now work with are from there.

So what brand is this dongle? Surely its not factory????

Re: My new GT!

Hi akamire, I've only ever found a single reference to the RACE Damping Mode - the reference is concerning a Lap Time of Qatar - and a handful of Dongles that were programmed this way. http://www.motor-forum.nl/forum/list_messages/419511/5/KTM-Super-Duke-1290-GT-The-Beast-onder-de-GTs-6.html "Maar ...

Re: My new GT!

Ok... I'm very interested in this race suspension mode, can you take a picture of the dash to show this? What year is yours? Aussie Dave/Jason, you haven't lived yet if you haven't turned off the TC! It's amazing how much it intervenes and you don't know it. I'm a big wheelie enthusiast so if its dr...

Re: Thoughts on new tires

I'm not a fan of the Angel GTs but ended up installing a new GT rear because l was showing cords. Anyway my front was due recently and l opted to try the new Dunlop Q3 + with 20% better mileage the the Q3, first off it transformed the handling and sticks like glue. I will definitely throw a rear on ...

Re: Cleaning Dust Boots

A lot of people use a screwdriver but a wider thin plastic glazing bar or similar will do fine. Just work a little at a time going around the dust seal. I clean the area with contact cleaner and put a small amount of lube(tri-flow or something thin) on the fork to reduce stiction. Good luck 002.jpg ...

Suspension update? Recall or are you bumping up the preload?

Re: Bag locks

I just looked though my paperwork and this manual doesn't explain how to remove the cylinder, only install which includes keying it. If you need pictures of what they show let me know. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170925/d149c14c43ea90f09489b690101a5a44.jpg Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Re: front brake noise

My GT makes this noise, it turned out that its the chain rubbing on the slider block. Lube your chain and see if it stops

Re: Noise in the fork / brakes when braking slowly abruptly.

Sounds like your rotors are warped, throw a stand under the front end and spin the wheel. It may be hard to see with the naked eye but you can lock a object of your choice perpendicular to the rotor. You'll see it a lot easier that way. Good luck
