Re: Heat Shield

If you remove the cat some have noticed no dramatic decrease in the heat produced by the KTM SDGT. The majority of the heat seems to be coming from the engine?? If you remove the cat be ready to pay some significant cash outlay to adjust the KTM SDGT. My KTM dealer recommended the following as the m...

Re: Constands CENTRAL STAND EVO or Abba SUPERBIKE

Love the KTM SDGT Center Stand. Makes Maintance a Breeeze. Have the ABBA but, several companies make them: https://www.redlinestands.com/catalog/lifts-c-290/motorcycle-atv-lifts-c-290_110/sport-bike-stands-c-290_110_87/redline-sport-bike-motorcycle-center-stand-p-406 https://abbastandsusa.com/produc...

Re: Heat Shield

I agree. It gets hot in SC. As long as I am moving over 55 mph everything is OK. I guess you are not supposed to be going slow on a KTM SDGT?? Did take Termo-tech ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00029KC2K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) & put it under the seat and on the cat heat ...

Re: Ibex Crash Protector Bar

Thanks for sharing. The Ibex protection bars look fantastic. The SW-Motech crash bars provide protection in a stopped drop but, the KTM SDGT tends to want to roll over. The Ibex product looks like a better solution. Best,

Re: Anyone try National Cycle V-Steam wind screen.

Got their Sports Touring (N20806) to just try it ( http://www.nationalcycle.com/n20806.html ). Best wind screen for the KTM SDGT I found to date (tried Cal Sci, MadStad & Puig). For the highway put on the MRA Touring visor ( https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/mra-x-creen-tour-variable-windscreen-sp...

Re: No power to sat nag or lighter port

According to the 2017 KTM SDGT Service Manual it appears that these electrical items are from Fuse 2- 10A- in your Fuse Box under the seat. The 1st two Fuses should be spare fuses & 10A. Hope this is of assistance. Best, Doc :? :? https://photos.smugmug.com/KTM-SDGT/i-cb6BZZC/0/19441494/X2/2017%20KT...

Re: Exhaust valve dongle

AndyW,

I agree. When I have made changes like de-cating eventually, it required an ECU change. Unfortunately, according to my KTM Dealer that is not avaliable for the KTM SDGT without an aftermarket edition. Not sure I am going to drop another $2K into this bike. Best,

Re: Top box carrier max load?

I believe the capacity of maximum weight for these top cases is arround 8 to 9 kgs or just 20 lbs. The Shad 48 liter case has a maximum weight capacity of 8 kgs ( http://www.shad.es/en/shad-usa/products ... m/c17r156/ ). Best,

Flashing E Realy Means One Gallon Left!!

The spec’s on the KTM SDSGT indicate a fuel tank capacity of 6.1 gallons of gas ( http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/ktm/ktm_1290_superduke_GT_16.htm ). Would always fill when the Flashing Empty on the Fuel Gauge Came On. Rarely would I put 5 gallons in the bike. Called the KTM dealer. Service s...

Just finished with the 2018 BMW Tame the Tail of the Dragon at the IHML in NC ( https://www.facebook.com/K1600DG/ ). We had over 50 BMW K1600's show up. Took my 2017 KTM SDGT with the GTLE. Not a single other KTM SD appeared. Best, Doc   https://photos.smugmug.com/KTM-SDGT/i-BCrHDkR/0/2a...
