Re: Front Brakes noise (video)

Well I changed wheels too, so if the mounting surface was a problem, that mounting surface is no longer in use. But the noise went away even with the stock wheels.

Re: Rear Shock Removal

I don't have specs for the bolt. It's not even metric, mine is SAE. It doesn't actually thread into anything on the bike, so the threads don't matter. The flanges on the flange nuts need to be big enough to drive the movable bushing to the side, creating more clearance for installation. To use it, y...

Re: Rear Shock Removal

See the service manual for a little tool you have to make out of a length of threaded rod or a long bolt and two flange nuts. It is used to press the bushings to the side so you can fit the shock back in there. This is the one I made and used: https://photos.smugmug.com/2016-KTM-Super-Duke-1290-R/i-...

Re: Front Brakes noise (video)

Yep. My 2016 made that noise the very first day, and it continued until I replaced the front rotors with the PP wave rotors.

Did you follow the procedure in the FSM about seating the brake calipers so they are centered?

VIN lookup for my 2016 SDR says there are no recalls for it.

Re: 2017 Keyless issue

I doubt the solution is DuraCell batteries. I think the *temporary* solution is to install a fresh battery in the fob, but I bet *any* good quality fresh battery would do the same. I specifically decided against a '17 when I bought mt '16 SDR specifically because I don't think KTM does a very good j...

Re: Beast lifter

I don't think I would feel secure with 450lbs up that high on such a small base. Wouldn't take much to knock it over.

I have only put about 1000 miles on since changing the rotors and pads.

Re: Wanting to buy new rotors.. Power Parts versus Galfers?

I have the PP rotors on my bike. They did improve the brake feel (I installed EBC HH pads at the same time though). No pulsing whatsoever, unlike the stock ones that howled when walking the bike.

Re: Akra full exhaust servo question

I bought my full Akrapovic system from Rottweiler. It came without the K&N filter and SAS blockoff plates at a reduced cost. I had already done the SAS removal and I don't like K&N filters (I installed the Rottweiler airbox with 100/80 stacks). Just so you know that if you don't need that stuff you ...

Re: Well, This happened (Updated)

OK. I don't like the way it looks. The lines do not mesh well with the lines of the motorcycle. It really has that "turd in a punchbowl" look to me. I have not heard it in person but suspect it is way louder than I would want. I have the Akrapovic EVO system that is as loud as I could live with on a...

Re: Heated grips

Mine on my '16 also retain their settings through ignition on / off cycles. But when the bike is turned off, so are the grips. If they were on medium when I turned the key off, they go off and cool down... but when I restart the engine they will be on, on medium, and heating up again. That is exactl...
