KTM PP Soft Bags Fading

IMG_3036.JPG I read about these bags fading before I bought them. I really like the look of the orange and black on th bike and I don't want to lose it. Especially since they are way over priced! So I bought some Rit fabric dye. Tangerine orange and plain black. I mixed it with water and tested it ...

Re: Is vibration above 7K rpm normal?

I think the vibes are inherent. There's not much to these bikes. It's an engine with a little bit of frame bolted to it. Mine is also smooth to about 8k, get angry vibes and the front tires get squirmy up to about 10k when I shift. I also get annoying bang back through the clutch handle when I shift...

Re: What to make of the Teething Problems forum

Hey Tex, did you use that openflash tablet you posted about previously? I was interested in any reports. I agree with you, the SDR is no beast if straight line acceleration is the criteria, but I will say mine is dead stock and I was disappointed in my 2015 Vmax compared to my B-king, till I got th...

Re: What to make of the Teething Problems forum

My Ducati Diavel has been in the shop more than all 16 bikes I've owned before it combined. It took about 2 years but it settled down and has been reliable since. The Super Duke had an oil leak when I bought it. I was afraid I was in for another rough time but so far that's been it. My slight disapp...

Re: Rear stand pin

I don't know what brand it is. I bought it off Amazon and there's no manufacturer info. But it works fine so I'd rather not buy another one. I'll buy a pin and see if it fits. Otherwise I may have to buy another. Thanks for the info guys.

Rear stand pin

Can anyone tell me the size pin I need to lift the rear of the Super Duke? I have a stand for my Diavel with a removable pin that I'd like to use instead of buying a whole new stand. Suggestions on where to order would also be greatly appreciated.

Re: Oil Leak on New 1290

OK gents, I got the Duke back. Dealer kept it for 2 weeks. Repaired it, tested it and watched it on the lift. It is leak free so they tell me. The replaced part is the suction pump cover. It's hard to see, but it's next to the oil filter cover. Pic of the part is attached, I could not find it on a p...

For Sale: Ixil XOVS Black Exhaust

I bought this brand new. I only ran it a few dozen miles. It's too quiet for me, even with the DB killer removed. I like obnoxiously loud and this is not. It is louder than stock though. I paid $426 for it. I'll sell it for $300 plus shipping. Only to the lower 48. This is just the muffler, mounting...

Re: Oil Leak on New 1290

My dealer said they ordered the suction pump cover and gasket. It's directly over the oil filter. Hope that helps. I won't have the bike back until this weekend. I'll post a pic then.

Re: Oil Leak on New 1290

That stinks. I meant to get on here and give you my update. My dealer did find the leak after several spray powder applications. It's a cover above the oil filter. Even the mechanic doesn't know what it's for lol. They are ordering a new cover and gasket. I'm bummed I'll be without my brand new bike...

I had a beautiful girlfriend. Stunning 6' tall blonde. She didn't like my motorcycles. She's no longer with us.

Re: Oil Leak on New 1290

I haven't had time to bring it back. I am going there tomorrow. I'll let you know, but I'm curious too. I didn't feel any oil behind that area. I haven't had a leaky bike since the 90s.

Re: Duke, Diavel and Vmax comparo

The bike definitely will wheelie. That's not what I want. I want that kick in the pants as the bike takes off, not up lol. My OpenFlash Tablet is on its way. That should solve the leanness. I'll report back after I test it out.

Duke, Diavel and Vmax comparo

Here's my rough review of all three bikes in comparison. My standard disclaimer is: I ride on highways mostly, a few back roads, and no track time. I have back problems so I can't ride for more than a few hours at a stretch. Keep that in mind. 2014 Vmax: Appearance: The Vmax is a surprising attentio...

Re: Flashing the SD 1290

[/quote]Hi. Yes, I understand that but the point I'm worried about is that no 2 bikes will have the same fuelling requirements, even if they both have the same mods. How do we fine tune? With a PCV I would go to a dyno operator, as nearly all are familiar with DynoJet products. How can Shiv know how...

Re: Oil Leak on New 1290

No, I can see clearly that the oil filter cover is clean. It's seeping out right from that bolt which is way back from the filter cover. I just don't see what that bolt is holding together.
i will be taking it back to the dealer this week.

Re: Flashing the SD 1290

Has anyone out there ordered one of these OFT's yet. I've messaged the guy but not had clear answers yet. He says the unit has pre-loaded maps that can be swapped but surely this would need dyno time. Most dyno operators near me use PCV software to make changes. Would I have to turn up at dyno, do ...
