Good to hear your okay. If you buy anything besides an sdr you need to do a comparison for us.
Absolutely, will do. Likely won't be until the spring though. I want to be able to pay cash if I can for the bike.

Re: Second motorcycle to contrast the 1290?

Thanks I really appreciate the sentiment. I've been eyeing the Tuono for a while as it was #2 on my list when I got the Duke.

We will see.

Re: Second motorcycle to contrast the 1290?

Thanks for all the replies I appreciate it. Unfortunately it looks like I'll be needing a replacement for the Duke due to a hit and run last week. No broken bones only bruising. I was going in for a low speed right hand turn when they hit me, spun the bike 180 degrees and flung us into a mostly gras...

Second motorcycle to contrast the 1290?

Like the title says. Some will remember I've had some... let's call them growing pains with my 1290. However those are sorted and the bike has been good since. However, I know, and the Girlfriend knows, I'll need to get another bike. I won't be satisfied with just the 1290 long term. I sold my car i...

Re: Oil Leak on New 1290

So.. turns out I had an oil leak AND a coolant leak. Bike has now been at the dealer 1/2 of my ownership. I'm telling people I clearly had a bike assembled at Friday after lunch but I'm at my wits end with this. I know this isn't the norm but it's killing all my love for the bike and my eyes are alr...

Re: Oil Leak on New 1290

FYI it ended up being this same seal. In and out of the dealer in about a week. Didn't cost me a dime. Now it's clean and bone dry.

Re: Bunny Ears no more CRG\Rhino Moto

How's the vibration and picture quality by comparison? Objects in mirrors appear farther away than they are. This was communicated in literature. Can't notice any more or less vibrations. That's too bad I was really hoping to cut down on the vibration in the mirrors. Drives me nuts just seeing a ju...

Re: I'm in the hot seat ( literally )

Hmmm. Thanks, I may as well give it a try, though most of my problem is my thighs right next to the seat, maybe it will help. We've had some near 100 degree days here in CO and I ride in medium traffic for about 45 minutes home. So long as you aren't sitting still or are getting a breeze this has m...

Re: I'm in the hot seat ( literally )

Hey Dan, I too had this problem. I just recently tapped up the bottom of my seat with this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0039Z5TYU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_dp_T1_IFqtzbVEGMKYK It's easy and I only did one layer with nearly half the roll left over. Took 5ish minutes? It's been FANTASTIC. Huge reduction in actual...

Great. Well if you get a picture that would be fantastic. Hopefully it's the same but I'm giving them a phone call again today.

No chance there is a KTM dealer near you where you could slip the tech a $20 to get this info huh?

Re: KTM powerparts ergo seat?

I picked up the ergo seat and I've got about 100 miles on it so far. What I can say is that it's more comfortable but I noticed a negligible difference between seat height (i'm nearing being on the tips of my toes at 5'8) but I do feel like it is narrower so I can get slightly more of my feet on pav...

Re: Service Light Reset and 600 Mile Service procedures

Can this be turned off by the owner? If so how? Also, does anyone know exactly what is done at the standard 600 mile service? I've already changed my oil and filters twice, have "Nut and Bolted" the bike a few times, does the dealer do anything special? I've been trying to figure out the service re...

Re: Reset service indicator

Yeah sorry about that guys. When registering it says first Year of registration and I got my MY 2016 bike in 2017. Didn't mean to get your hopes up that this works on a MY 2017 Bike.

I sincerely apologize for the confusion and updated my profile.

Re: Oil Leak on New 1290

I really don't want to be without the bike for several days and take it to the dealer if I can't find the source but it's driving me nuts. Hope you have better luck and I look forward to hearing.
